Teach live language classes,
on a schedule you can keep.
SajiloBhasa teaches Japanese to students in Nepal and abroad, in live small cohorts, with Korean, French and Spanish opening as we find the instructors to run them. We are adding cohorts faster than we are adding teachers, which is the honest reason this page exists.
What the work is
You take one cohort at a time. A cohort is a small group of students who start together, stay together, and meet you at the same hour every week until the level is finished - fifteen weeks for N5, longer as the levels rise. You are not covering somebody else's class, and you are not teaching a different room each week, so by the third session you know which of them is guessing and which is genuinely following.
Classes are live on Zoom or Google Meet and nothing is recorded for a library. That is a deliberate limit on the work rather than a feature: there is no back catalogue to maintain, no comment queue waiting at the weekend, and the ninety minutes you spend teaching is the whole of the commitment. What happens between classes is a WhatsApp thread per cohort, where students ask the questions they did not want to ask in front of the rest of the group. Most weeks that is a handful of messages.
You are given a syllabus, not a blank page. Every level has a published structure - the sections, the order, and what a student is expected to be able to do at the end of each one - and it is the same structure the course page shows the student before they pay. You are free to teach it your own way, and you will not be inventing a curriculum on a Sunday night to keep a Tuesday class fed.
What it pays
Instructors are paid per cohort rather than per hour, so a class that runs long because the room is engaged does not cost you money, and a light week does not cost us any. We will tell you the figure for the level you are applying to teach in our first reply - before a demo class, before a conversation about availability, and before you have spent an evening on it.
We do that because "competitive" is not a number and because a teacher who finds out the rate at the end of a three-stage process has been wasting their time with our permission. If the figure does not work for you, the right moment to say so is the second message, and no one will think worse of it.
Who we are looking for
Someone who has taught a live room and can hold one for ninety minutes. That is the requirement that actually predicts whether this works, and it is not the same skill as knowing the language well - we have met excellent speakers who could not keep a small group talking, and unremarkable ones who could. Certification helps us place you at a level and does not decide anything on its own.
Beyond that, the thing that matters is whether you are willing to be interrupted. Our students are adults paying their own money, several of them preparing to move countries, and the class exists so they can ask the question they are embarrassed by. A teacher who needs to finish the slide first is teaching a different kind of class than this one.
You do not need to be in Kathmandu, or in Nepal. You need a reliable connection, a quiet room, and the same free hour every week for the length of a cohort.
Open roles
We hire by language and level rather than by job title. A language marked opening soon is one we intend to run and have not staffed yet - writing to us about it is genuinely how it gets scheduled, because we open a cohort when there is somebody to teach it.

What happens after you write
You write a paragraph. The language, the levels you are comfortable teaching, and how you have taught before - a school, a college, private students, online, it all counts. A CV is welcome and is not required; we have never learned anything from a list of dates that the paragraph did not already say.
We reply within one business day with the rate for that level and the slots that are open. If both work, the last step is a thirty-minute demo class with two of our team as your students. It is a lesson, not an interview about lessons - teach us something, badly explained on purpose if you like, and let us watch how you handle it.
If we are not hiring for your language yet, we will say so plainly rather than leaving you on a list. When the cohort opens, we come back to you first.
Apply to teach
Tell us the language, the levels you can teach, and how you have taught before. Write it the way you would explain it to a colleague - we read every one of these ourselves, and there is nobody here filtering for keywords.
If you would rather attach a CV, email support@sajilobhasa.com instead. Either way you will hear back within one business day, with the rate.
